I-TECC exists because the towing and recovery industry deserves better than on-the-job guesswork. We deliver structured, hands-on tow truck training built for operators and companies who take their craft — and their responsibility on the road — seriously. Our courses are designed to close the gap between showing up and being genuinely prepared, because what happens at a scene affects everyone on that highway. Better-trained operators mean safer roads, fewer incidents, and a stronger industry for everyone working in it.

OUR TRAININGS

Level 1 - Fundamental Skills

Our Level 1 course is a 16-hour foundational tow truck training covering vehicle inspections, traffic control, passenger vehicle recovery, rigging basics, and hybrid and electric vehicle handling — plus four hours of Traffic Incident Management training included at no charge. Operators who pass the written exam receive a towing certification card valid for three years.

Level 3 - Advanced Techniques

Designed for operators who've completed Levels 1 and 2, this 16-hour advanced tow truck training covers tractor-trailer up-righting, compound winching lay-ups, air brake systems, OSHA rigging standards, and the precision calculations that protect people and equipment in high-risk recoveries. A hands-on practical assessment ensures operators can perform — not just pass a test.

Level 4 - Master-Level Recovery

Level 4 is the highest tier of tow truck training we offer, built for operators ready to command the most complex and high-consequence scenes in the field. This course covers advanced load management, multi-point vertical lifting, Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations, and the on-scene leadership skills that define the most qualified operators in the industry.

Rotator Training

This course prepares operators to run one of the most technical pieces of equipment in the industry — covering rotator mechanics, load calculations, boom positioning, advanced rigging, and the safe recovery of overturned tractor-trailers and heavy machinery in confined or off-road conditions. Operators leave with the towing certification and skills to plan and execute high-consequence recoveries with precision.

Hybrid & EV Training

Electric and hybrid vehicles present real hazards that untrained operators aren't equipped to handle — high-voltage systems, thermal runaway risk, and complex shutdown procedures that vary by manufacturer. This course covers identification, stabilization, safe towing and transport, emergency response, and proper handling of battery electric, hybrid, CNG, LPG, and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
